Marwell sneak preview (and end of August A-Team)

On Friday and Sat this week I'm heading to Marwell wildlife for my little stall of recycled goodies. I've been very busy making and planning displays etc. Thought you might like a sneaky preview of what I've been up to! Lots of bits and pieces in resin!

First of all, my fossil shell jewellery. If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that the fossil shells are the reason I dabbled in (and got hooked on) resin in the first place. Marwell is going to be the day I launch the range! (Because as Natalie says, "You can't get more recycled than millions of years old!") All my fossil resin jewellery will have sterling silver findings. There will be more than in this picture, but basically there will be lots of earrings, some necklaces/pendants and a bangle.

Next, pressed flowers in resin. Some of these flowers are from my own collection and some were very kindly given to me by Kaz of buteartism. Again, more to come.

Next, fabric scraps in resin. When I was looking for fabric for my wedding dress I got a lot of tiny fabric samples. I didn't throw then away and now I've found a use for them! Again, more to come.

And finally (of the resin ranges), greetings card cuttings in resin! A fair few keyrings but a couple of pairs of earrings too.

Still have LOADS on the to do list. I have lots of broken jewellery that I want to make new jewellery out of and I also want to make fabric roses out of some old shirts for brooches or maybe fascinators. Plus I have lots of printing to do. Boxes and business cards etc. Plus I've been asking around on the folksy and crafteroo forums for pictures of people's recylced creations. I'm going to have a little display area with pictures of lovely goodies for inspiration and advertising. I'll be popping their details on the pictures and let people take them away if they're interested. I also have a great pot cover crocheted out of cassette tape by Jane of Hooked Yarn and a bag made by me out of those beaded car seat covers from the 70s (display only items).

Prob wont be blogging again until after the zoo. Much much much to do! Plus I'm tutoring as well. On that note, I'm temporarily bowing out of the list a day folksy challenge. I did manage to list 31 items this month (well...ish. Yesterday I listed two pairs of different coloured earrings in one listing to save me 20p) I'll catch up next week because I'm sure I wont sell everything at the zoo! These are my end of August listings.

August A-Team: Days twenty-six to twenty-eight

August has been my quietest month so far. I only had one sale for most of the month but just had a mini rush of 4! (Ok 3 were to the same person, thanks Hannah.)
Here's my listings from days twenty-six to twenty-eight- more resin!

And three favourites each day from other fantabulous A-Teamers.

August A-Team: Days twenty-three to twenty-five

I'm still keeping up with the A-Team despite the creating for the zoo next week. These are my listings from the last 3 days. Experiments with resin!

August A-Team: Days eighteen to twenty-two

Well a fantastic opportunity has come up since I last posted. Marwell Wildlife are having a recycling 'week' from 31st Aug - 4th Sept. I have a friend who works there and he happened to mention to the girl who is organising it that I somethimes make jewellery out of recycled bits and pieces. She was interested in having some examples, I thought for display purposes. I finally got in touch with her directly last Wed and there has been a fair few emails back and forth. The upshot is- I am going to have a stall there on Fri 3rd and Sat 4th selling my recycled makes!!!! I've asked around the forums too. Nat of O'blue and Natalie of NOfkantsCurios are going to get some of there things to me to sell too. 10% of proceeds will be donated to the zoo as they are not charging for the stall. Exciting!!
As of a couple of days ago my folksy shop only had one pair of earrings and one bracelet that incorparate recycled materials. I've started more recycled makes but its gonna be a busy couple of weeks.

And I'm still going to attempt to keep up with the A-Team... Over the last 5 days I have listed 4 flower button earrings and another pair of forget me not studs. Pop into my shop to see the yellow and purple button earrings.

And here are a few of the many things from fellow A-Teamers that have caught my eye over the last few days. As always, click on the pics to find out more about these goodies.

August A-Team: big catch up

I've been a bad blogger and bad A-Teamer all round. Seem to be very busy at the mo but not really sure what I've been doing. A lot of craft fair planning- its not until 30-31st October but I want to be thoroughly ready and then some. Besides- its a two day event!!! Possibly not the best idea for my first fair but never mind. At least my fair buddies have done one or two before. It may have been a long time ago and for minitures not crafts but still...
I'll be selling jewellery and Jen will be selling bags mostly. We're both going to make up some kits too. Jen's Mum is also going to join us. Sue's a great sugarcraft artist. She made my gorgeous wedding cake (and was so lovely and gave it to us as a wedding present). Hmm...I'd show you a pic but STILL haven't got round to uploading all the photos from my wedding and its been over a year now. Ooops! Oooh here's one taken by a friend of mine on facebook if you want to see.

Anyhow- enough rambling. Here's a few of the bits and pieces I've listed over the last little while. Not everything. If you want to see all my recent listings then pop along to my shop.

And many lovelies from other fantabulous fellow A-Teamers. As always, click on the pics to find out more about these goodies.
